But before we get to the amazingness that was a stranger's high five, I'll mention that I forgot to total last time! Oooops. TOTAL: 17
STRANGER: Chocolate-Banana Air Traffic Controller
POINTS:
Started the conversation: I'll give myself half-points for this, since I didn't actually start it, but I gave the lead to keep it going, so 5
Length: 5 minutes or more
Location: Oh So Good (a dessert place in Ottawa)... we'll give it 10
Comfort zone: 2 points
BUT HIGH FIVE! I'm pretty sure this deserves points... my roommate (and only follower...) says 50... I think we'll go with that. 50!
Maybe I'll tell the high five story... I'm a bit proud.
The guy asked my friend and I where we were from. When I said "Haliburton," he said, "Oh yeah. My wife and I do air traffic control for that area... Stanhope airport."
I was stunned. No one knows about the Stanhope airport (bet you have to look that up!). In shock, I said, "If you weren't a complete stranger, I would high five you for knowing where Stanhope is."
His response? "High fives are always good." (satisfying clapping sound)
SO, total: 72!
Not bad.
Lesson learned: Do not stay in hotels near the airport for $135, when you can stay at the Chateau Laurier for $150.
